Admiral’s Cup automaticThe heir to Corum’s flagship watch has retained the famous nautical pennants, while moving them from the dial to the bezel which, while retaining its original 12 sides now rotates and is notched to form a graduated scale of 360. Representing an exclusive Corum innovation, the glareproof sapphire crystal has been enlarged to encompass both the dial and the bezel, even rotating along with it. Its black lacquered or creamy white dial with centre seconds and date window at 6 o’clock features points of reference that can be used when sailing, by means of the rotating bezel, to determine the most favourable angle in relation to wind direction in order to reach the targeted buoy. The transparent sapphire crystal case back reveals the decorative patterns on the oscillating weight of the automatic movement: a sailboat engraved as a background, with colourful nautical pennants indicating the figures for the year the watch is produced. The outer links of the steel or gold echo the centre-board shape of the lugs, while the central links are decorated in the ship’s railing style of the watch profile. Its adjustable double fastening system with personalised Admiral’s Cup cover features a Corum exclusive safety clasp. Steel models are teamed with a steel, steel and rubber bracelet, or a rubber and high-tech fabric strap, while gold models are worn on a gold-link bracelet or black crocodile leather strap. Admiral’s Cup automatic exists in two sizes: large and mid-size. The mid-size model is identical to the largest, except that the bezel does not rotate and there are no reference points on the dial.
