Girard - Perregaux
Constant Girard
1791- Jean Francois Baute created his first timepieces and
established a manufactory in Geneva.
1837- Jacques Bautte and Jean Samuel Rossel took over
from J.F. Bautte, who left them an extremely valuable industrial and
cultural inheritance. (They would later merge with Gerard Perregaux, around
1906.)
1854- Constant Girard married Marie Perregaux-from
their union the Girard Perregaux was borin in 1856.
1867-Constant Girard introduced his Tourbillon with
Three Gold Bridges.
1880 Constant Girard designed and produced the
very first production wristwatch.
1966 Girard-Perregaux produced the first high-frequency mechanical watch.
1969 it produced the first mass-produced quartz watch. Watch ranges include the Equation. The second oldest Swiss watch manufacturer based in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
