Pierre Balmain Elypsa Chrono The Elypsa Chrono chronograph designed by the Swiss watchmaker Balmain in matching his and hers models. It bears the seal of Balmain, the arabesque decoration on the dial, combined with Roman or Arabic numerals and includes a version set with diamonds. The beauty of this new model conjures up an image of elegant ladies at Ascot or the Monte Carlo Rally. Or perhaps dashing men at an air show or the final of the Australian Open. One can equally well imagine the Elypsa Chrono at a lounge party in a palace somewhere or soaring up into the air for a balloon ride. It would be at home too on an 18-hole golf course or around a fine wrist holding a cocktail on a chaise longue in the moonlight. All such dreamy, pleasant images can easily be invoked by the Elypsa Chrono, a true companion of good living and style. This impression comes purely from the exquisite bassine case to which the bracelet is discreetly attached. In effect, the case has no right-angles at all, even the case is beveled. And to accentuate the curves of the design even more, Balmain Swiss Watches have created a domed dial under a domed glass. The case back is screwed in and engraved with the name of the brand. While the crown displays the characteristic Balmain cabochon, the push-buttons, set at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock, are domed. Alluding to the Balmain emblem, the Elypsa Chrono is made only with silvered dials decorated with the arabesque motif. Different versions have Arabic or Roman numerals with either a steel bracelet with a folding safety clasp or a crocodile-effect leather strap in black or white. The brand also offers an especially exquisite version: the Elypsa Chrono with a bezel set with 28 diamonds of decreasing size with a total weight of 0.21 carats. Extremely stylish!
